Album Review: Get Home Safely – Dom Kennedy

Whenever I think of Dom Kennedy, the first word that comes to mind is smooth, from his flow to his beats and this album was definitely smooth. Dom Kennedy, in my opinion, always has the toughest production. Besides Curren$y, Dom K always has the best ride-around-town-with-your-bass-bumping type of music. Get Home Safely was a consistent album. I liked a good 95% of this album. I like how simple Dom Kennedy is. He talks about simple things that a regular guy in Cali goes through in a way that holds your attention. Granted, I don’t think Dom Kennedy is lyrically consistent half the time on this album but I dig the production and his flow. This album is a solid piece of work that I’ll definitely put on my top rap albums that’s been dropped this past year. I’d give this album a 4.5 out 5.
